If your wallet is not up for a big “roses and candlelight” outing this Valentine’s Day, don’t fret.
How does this sound for a romantic date? Start with a hand-in- hand walk through The Morikami’s 16-acre Roji-en: Gardens of the Drops of Dew (the George D. and Harriet W. Cornell Japanese Gardens). The Morikami features six Japanese garden styles – Early Rock Garden, Late Rock Garden, Hiraniwa Flat Garden, Shinden Garden, Paradise Garden and – wait for it – the Modern Romantic Garden!
The Gardens surround Morikami Pond and lead walkers approximately a mile through meandering greenery, past towering bamboo and rushing waterfalls and beside beds of carefully raked pebbles. Roji-En is recognized as one of the top 10 Japanese gardens in Europe, North America and Australia by the Journal of Japanese Gardening.
Then after you’re all in tune with nature and each other’s beauty, stroll into the Museum Store. When you buy something (anything) worth $25 or more, you get “gift with purchase,” or a set of 14K Gold finish heart-shaped earrings with freshwater pearls.
This limited time offer is good for those who love big, but have to spend small. Happy February 14th, everyone!
